Review

This book was a slow starter for me, it did take a while for me to dig deep into reading and not want to put it down, but when it came oh boy oh boy, did I not want to put it down. The Story is about a girl called Amora who is set to take over the kingdom on her birthday after a ritual is done. Her Birthday comes and it does not go to plan as in this celebration, all goes terribly wrong and the “monster” takes over her body and she was not able to control it inside of her. This gets her sent to prison and this outsider named Bastian comes to her rescue and bails her out.

Once at see aboard Bastian’s ship Keel Haul, they are not alone and are accompanied by Ferrick who is Amora’s soon to be husband. They are on the mission to help Amora win back her kingdom and also help Bastian with his things. The events in this book get better and better as you read along. There is a sort of love triangle which then burns out as Ferrick shows interest in the mermaid Vataea as he grows very fond of her. The foursome go on an adventure to save all magic and the lands who need it the most. 

Amora, learns not only of what her father has kept from her but also learns the truth behind the magic and what her father kept from her and why he never let her sail the seas with him when she was young.

Overall, If you love adventure, pirates, and love interest this is the book for you. Learning of new islands, different magic and why certain island where suffering.
